The Healing Wars
A fantasy adventure for ages 10 and up, The Healing Wars series follows Nya, a war
orphan with the unique ability to heal by shifting pain from person to person. Her ability
makes her a target of the enemy forces occupying the city, and if they capture her,
they'll turn her into a weapon against her own people. When those she loves are
threatened, Nya must make impossible choices about who she is and how far she can
fall before becoming what she fears most.
.
Nya is a Taker: with her touch she can heal injuries, drawing the pain into
her own body. Unlike other Takers, she can’t push the pain into the
enchanted metal used to store it. All she can do is shift it from person to
person, a skill she must conceal or risk being used as a human weapon.
But when her sister mysteriously disappears, Nya must decide—how far will
she go to save her?

voices. From the depths of the underground civilization of Varin to a gritty,
near-future Seattle; from post-apocalypse Atlanta to an India where
technology is reshaping society; from a young girl caught in the struggles of
the Aztec Gods to a story of demonic possession on the Yangtze; from
neo-Shakespearian Space Opera to the cross-wiring of parallel universes...
